Marta was born in Zaragoza (Spain). She studied Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza. In 2023 she obtained her Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. M. Concepción Gimeno and Dr. Vanesa Fernández-Moreira. The title of her thesis was « Tailoring iridium(III) complexes for improved anticancer activity: The role of ligands and the incorporation of gold(I) fragments». She is currently working on the encapsulation of different ruthenium(II) complexes for the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer in collaboration with Prof. Christophe Thomas et Dr. Didier Decaudin, a project funded by an ERC Proof of Concept.

She is passionate about fashion, good coffee, and dogs. In her free time, she loves traveling and hiking!
